Panel Discussion

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm ET
ICI is pleased to present a conversation between Allison Glenn (Senior Curator & Dir. Public Art, CAM Houston), Toya Northington (Community Engagement, Speed Art Museum), and Detroit-based artist Chelsea Flowers on Glenn’s exhibition at the Speed Art Museum, Promise, Witness, Remembrance, and the parallels reflected in the Detroit art community.
Promise, Witness, Remembrance reflects on the life of Breonna Taylor, her killing in 2020, and the year of protests that followed, in Louisville and around the world. The exhibition is organized around the three words of its title, which emerged from a conversation between Glenn and Tamika Palmer, mother of Breonna Taylor, during the exhibition’s planning.
